Who surpised you in game # 1
Last night I saw a powerful power forward emerging - Mr Brown
Thomas was a slight surprise - 3 goals + 1 assist
Jenner looked tentative but will improve with time
The newbie defence kids will be alright

Brown and Thomas should not be a surprise because that's what they should be doing, but what did surprise me is the two Euro picks how well they played but we said that of last years Euros @ training camp and when the season started they didn't really improve, hopefully the way they played against the Pete's is a sign of the future.I also thought Hope and Sanbiron(sp).
not going to be a power house this year but will make the opposition work for the win we got a very young team and with that it will take time but the future looks good.

After living out of province and missing Gens games for the past two years I was excited to be at the game on Sunday.
Besides the comments above, I'd add that Strnad (sp?) really seems to be an effortless skater. It seemed like a few times he could easily click it into another gear. Jenner also seemed to be a better skater than from what I had read/heard. McDowell looked pretty promising on the blueline as well. And after hearing about Emerson Clark being a scrappy player, he seemed to look pretty quiet out there, but it was a pretty good tilt he had in the third.
More than anything I was happy to be back in the GMC!

Stumpy looked pretty good... maybe this will be his year to show why he was the key piece to the Tavares deal.
Scott "The Hammer" Valentine will be a presence this year as well. He has that ability to seek and destroy in center ice and catch people in the trolly tracks. I liked his game on Sunday

I agree with you on Valentine he threw a couple of impressive hip checks. I haven't seen a d-man do that since David Froh, yeah that's going back aways lol.
