Petes at Gens Oct. 16
Should be a great game tonight. First of 2 straight against the Petes. Not sure what to make of the Petes start. 6-1-1-1, best PK in the league right now. Are they really going to challenge or have they maybe benefited from playing some teams who didn’t have all their best players back yet? Prior to this season, in the 60 games of D’Agostini’s OHL career, his regulation record is 12-31 with a 4.40 GAA. In 4 games this year, he’s stopped 122 of 126 shots, is 4-0 with a 1.00 GAA. Go figure.
A few thoughts on last night since we don’t have a GDT for it. Too bad the Gens couldn’t have closed it out and got both points, especially considering they never trailed in the game and had 3 different 2 goal leads. Combine that with your PP scoring 3 goals and having perfect PK, that’s usually a pretty good recipe for success.
The Gens 5 forward PP was certainly exciting! Stronger possession, creativity, more organized, actually looked like a man advantage. At one point in the 2nd period, the 5 forward PP was clicking at 75% (3 for 4). It’s the whole risk vs. reward thing, the risk being not having a D presence on a shorthanded rush. But, so far after 1 game anyway, the reward is outweighing the risk.
Like the energy boost Andreoff’s return has given the team. Very noticeable. McDowell had some great low, hard and accurate shots from the point. Almost had a buzzer beater game winner last night from a good McDowell point shot.
Go Gens!

Gens and 67s will be the top two in the division when all is said and done, both solid and fairly evenly matched teams. The Petes will fade although they should still be fairly competitive. Assuming Puempel isn't dealt to a contender at the deadline, the Petes should play .500 hockey I think.
The Gens had a much better energy level yesterday and that should filter over to today, they should be fired up for their first game against the Petes. It is the tail end of a 3-in-3 but there was basically no travel since the road game was in Mississauga. The Petes have won their last two but faced with a matchup against a contender like the 67s, the Petes were outmached badly losing 5-1. However, the Petes always play better in Oshawa.
Should be a great one!

Game vs 67's
Again we took some dumb penalties - the 5 forward PP is too risky especially when Thomas is teeing it up from the blue line on 1 knee , I can see him fanning on this and the penalty killing forward will have a breakaway
With regular shifts and PP time plus PK time it seemed at times our top 6 forwards were always on the ice and this hurt their play late in the game
Last night we were up 4 - 2 at home vs the team that took 1 st place last year - very frustrating as we outplayed them BUT lost
Tonight home and home vs the Petes - we better be ready - this is the 7th place GENS vs the 2nd place PETES WITH A LOT ON THE LINE
In our division - we have lost to the BULLS twice - loss 1 to 67'S beat Kingston twice now the Petes for 2

Should be a good one tonight. Last night if the Gens had made it 5-2 that would have been it. We just need to put teams away. I'm happy with altshuller with our offense he gives the guys the chance to win. Is it me or do we seem to play shootouts a lot with Ottawa at the GMC.
Lets get on them tonight. I think we are a point man D and another OA away from really getting going.
