Oshawa Season Tickets 2010-2011
Has anyone received any information on season tickets for next year? Saw a poster tonight saying full payment was due in full by April 30th to receive a 25% discount on tickets..... assuming this is the early bird date for this year. Last year it was June 30th, so i'm a little shocked by the cash grab. However season ticket holders did not save 25% last year they only saved 20%.

Re: Oshawa Season Tickets 2010-2011
I spoke to Jason Hickman and questioned him about this.
What I was told is that if you pay for your seasons tickets by the end of April that you would save 25% off the new prices. He also mentioned that the new pricing is subject now to the H.S.T (13%) So there will be ticket price increases plus the H.S.T. added less 25% for those that pay by the end of April.
Those of us that put down the 100.00 last year for the next two seasons will not have to pay the increased ticket price or the H.S.T. We will still have to the end of June to pay.
Hope that helps you out archer_gens.
Jason said they will be sending out emails and letters shortly to convey the above message.

You are welcome archer_gens.
I just hope that what Jason said comes true. You know how it is with taxes..something we all have to pay...hopefuly because they said no price increase for three years they will absorb it and keep their word. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Re: Oshawa Season Tickets 2010-2011
I thought HST didn't come into effect until July in Ontario. How can the Generals charge the tax ?? a little off topic, but this bullshit Liberal government charging that bloody tax is ridiculous... pardon my language. and if the Generals charge an increase in their tickets it will be an outrage, considering the garbage product they have put on the ice the last two years. Maybe making the playoffs would make a little more money and they wouldn't need to fill in the costs in seasons tickets. \

Re: Oshawa Season Tickets 2010-2011
Season tickets will go up for sure if those locked in don't have to pay the HST, it makes up the difference.
Ya you would think that if we pay before the tax comes in that we would get to save$$$ however it could be that because the events are booked for after the date that the Gens are on the hook for the tax either way.
Hopefully this info is in our hands soon
April 30th is really quick and if it saves me any money at all I will be paying now rather then later.
Sounds like it won't though since i'm locked in

I do know that anyone doing home renovations can't pay now for a project to be completed in the autumn to try and avoid the tax, the project must be finished before the tax kicks in if one wants to avoid it. I guess this follows the same logic that paying for an event that happens after July 1st, it still gets paid whether by the team or the customer.
I reserve judgement on the HST. At first glance, I see no direct benefit to myself and lots to lose but it's supposed to be accompanied by tax cuts of other sorts and most economists seem to think it's good for small business. I'm a believer that anything that's good for small business is good for everybody because small/medium size businesses are the #1 employer in this country. Sorry to keep things going off-topic.

Info to come but

June 30th - Early Bird for all STH (20%?)
Not sure if those locked in get the 25% or not but Jason said it was for all STH

When I spoke to Jason yesterday he said that those who locked in for three years are going to be paying much less than those that didn't and that we are still geting a better deal than the 25% off.

HMMMMMMMMMMM! 25% off carry the one. I never was good at math. The result never seemed to be worth the effort.

HST - Big blow to all
Hst is a Government decision - answer from Bulls fan
All OHL teams ARE THE SAME
Season ticket renewal forms were handed out tonight for the 30th season of the Bulls tonight... The 30th has a another significance as well... Tickets have to be paid in full by April 30th to avoid having HST applied to the ticket price....in the case of an Adult ticket early bird price, it's $35....
Prior to April 30th 442.00 May 1st $477.00
I checked on the tax website and this is what it said
Important Dates
July. 1, 2010: As previously announced, the HST will be fully implemented in B.C. and Ontario. Goods or services received after this date will generally be subject to HST and not PST.
May 1, 2010: Suppliers will have to collect any applicable HST on amounts that are paid or payable on or after May 1, 2010 for goods or services delivered or provided on or after July 1, 2010.

Re: Oshawa Season Tickets 2010-2011
After I wrote the above, I was wondering why I never received a package that pertained to my situation. (paying the 100.00 for the next 2 seasons) and have sent Jason an email asking him for the rates that I locked into.

There should be no reason why we don't qualify...........are they going to penalize us for locking in making a commitment to support this team for the next two years????
