Oshawa vs Barrie
I thought I would start off the post on this game with a few wishes for the team and its coaches.
Start Baille in goal
Set up 3 defense pairings, with Dehart, Valentine and Alex each paired with one of the remaining defensemen for regular shifts.
Use all of these pairings throughout the game and keep the shifts shorter so there is no excuse for being tired.
Set up the forward lines whether it be three or four and use them all regularly with shorter shifts again so being tired is again not an excuse.
Try different combinations on the powerplay.
For those not giving what the coaches believe to be their maximum effort every shift and every period bench them.
Establish a system of breakout plays from our end.
If we try this and hopefully we will, then lets see who wants to play GENS hockey and put the pressure on those who do not want to.
What have we got to lose???
Sincerely

Re: Oshawa vs Barrie
Berger could be back for next weekend, but losing 3 or 4 more straight before he gets back in the lineup really won't leave us in a good spot.
I agree Dips needs to shake this team up, especially after a second long slide, doesn't look good on him, he can't keep the team together and we are so streaky

Re: Oshawa vs Barrie
At the Gens season ticket holder meeting, I asked Tulio how much longer before Berger comes back. He said around 10 days. Hopefully, he is back this week as we need all the help we can get.
The line juggling hasn't been working at all. Let the lines be and see what happens.
When we played Barrie last time, we didn't do that bad. The lines were consistent for the first tem minutes and then Dips goes and changes them. What happened then we all know Barrie scored four goals. After those goals he went back the the lines that played in the first 10 minutes and they didn't score after that. Consistency seems to be the key with this team.

Re: Oshawa vs Barrie
Barrie can turn it on and off so fast and that is what happened in that game
They turned in on scored 4 then coasted
Berger won't be back for another 10 days at least - that's 5 games
It's not the line combinations - it's the lack of heart and emotion that is missing - DIPS shakes the lineup every game

Re: Oshawa vs Barrie
It actually was a pretty good game other than the fact that we only got 3 shots on goal in the first period and were out hustled to the puck.
The guys did show a lot of passion last night and didn't quit.
Maybe this will give them a boost heading into the final games. With the next fours games in 7 days being at home, these are points that they really can't lose.

Re: Oshawa vs Barrie
I was not able to see or hear the game as I had another commitment.
Could someone advise if anything changed in the game vs Barrie regarding my wishes at the beginning of this post?
Thank You

Re: Oshawa vs Barrie
A handful of us went to the game in Barrie. Zador was the best I've ever seen. He faced about 54 shots and really frustrated a few of the Colts snipers. We sat behind the net so we got a good look at some of his greatest saves. The Gens got a few breaks in the way of power plays and capitalized on their chances. At the end of the game Brown was swarmed and roughed up by about five Colts. We really don't know why but the next time they meet it may be a nasty game.

They sucked. The menu says dusted but they were actually battered. The batter was soggy so I peeled most of it off.Lindy88 wrote:GENNY wrote:A handful of us went to the game in Barrie.
