The GENS new look forwards
Let us see our future - I see a few faces from last year not sticking - looking at the 12 forwards
Here is how I see it - Overagers - Berger and Brown -
then Andreoff & Thomas & Padulo add Jenner that is 6
now add Laughton - Petaccio and Payne - now Jensen = 10
Dream on with Lessio & Biggs - looking good = 12
So where does Esposto - Alcock -Labardo -Stokes - Terreri and Clark fit in - No Lessio or Biggs 2 of the above stay more than likely - Labardo & Stokes
Real battle at camp this year for spots - haven't seen that in awhile

Re: The GENS new look forwards
I think u need to keep either Terreri or Clark or both. Why? Cause u need a physical line to go out and bang. I like teams like Burke likes them two scoring lines and two physical lines, but for sure you need one physical line or it will be a long season.

Re: The GENS new look forwards
I like what Gens Camper has listed. I see Labardo ad Stokes or Labardo and Alcock. I thnk Esposto, Terreri and Clark could be gone. We'll see! Things are looking up.

Re: The GENS new look forwards
I think Clark is a given to be on this team. I don`t know for sure, but I was told the Gens made him give up Lacrosse this year. He played for the Gaels last year and was a very dynamic player. If the Gens wouldn`t let him play lacrosse, I think he is a lock.

Re: The GENS new look forwards
From my source I was told that Clark was encouraged to play for the Warriors or Gaels by the Gens. They thought it would be good for him. That said I heard he had other plans for his summer.
No I can't give my source, I trust it though, and if people have a problem with info without a source call it a rumor then.

Re: The GENS new look forwards
Well, like I said in my post, I don`t know for sure, it was just what someone said at one of the lacrosse games, so you very well may be right.

Re: The GENS new look forwards
Personally i would trade/cut Padulo, Esposto, Stokes and Terreri.
I have nothing bad to say about them, but mabey this is not the right team for them.
This opens up the opportuntiy to see what Alcock and Labardo can do with regular ice time and playing every game. Labardo is really quick and has potential to be a great support to one of the young guns. Another line that can score, would be really nice. His speed opens ice up for more skilled players.
But I guess camp and the pre-season will make the decision. A summer off, some conditioning ...mabey there will be some surprises....I too am looking forward to it.

Don't forget about about Hughes and Sabourin
Brian Hughes and Scott Sabourin will be competing fiercely for a few forward positions, Hughes and Sabourin have a lot of potential. Vince Mallette has been in contact with Dips concerning Sabourin who is now 6'4 195lbs
Mallette see's Sabourin as a Mark Bell type of player.Hughes is a smart hockey player who worked very hard on his game last season and will be ready to step in at centre an excellent faceoff man.
stay tuned

Re: The GENS new look forwards
They'll both be hard pressed to make the Gens this year, especially Sabourin. I wish them luck. I like Hughes, especially as a 3rd/4th line centre. I hope he grew a bit. Who is Vince Mallette?

Re: The GENS new look forwards
Vince Mallette WAS involved with the Petes. Is he still?
I'm looking forward to training camp. The competetion for the forward positions should be particularly heated and I hope all the boys are working hard in the off-season.
I was a fan of the Padulo-Esposto-Stokes line. When they were all healthy I thought they were very effective together

Re: The GENS new look forwards
When are Lessio & Biggs making up their minds and letting the team know what their plans are?

Looking forward to training camp as well. Maybe Paul the Octopus can give us some insights on who will make this year's team.

Re: The GENS new look forwards
I don't think you'll see either this year, especially Biggs as he is in the USNDT program and it's a two year commitment as I understand it. I think if Lessio was coming, the Gens would have heard by now. But, keep your fingers crossed. They came up with Payne and it was strongly believed he was going to "the States".

Re: The GENS new look forwards
Lessio will not go to Michigan until 2011 season if he does - so he is not in a hurry to decide
Paul the Octopus - became a bookie type celebrity at the World Cup - predicting 8 straight world cup wins including the final.
If you had bet $30.00 on game # 1 of the World cup and then bet all of your winnings on the next 7 games = $9,300.00
