Scott was released from his pto yesterday by the preds and is expected to report to the admirals camp on monday.
Andy s/b cut today from LA and will be sent to manchester, where according to the coach he is under consideration to make the team (as per the guy who reports on The LA KIngs)

Re: Valentine and Andreoff
The Link below is an article I just found....I knew he was sent there, but didn't know he signed. Can anyone else confirm that?
The Predators also released forwards Joel Champagne and Mark Van Guilder; and defensemen Jeff Foss, Scott Ford and Scott Valentine from Professional or Amateur Tryout Agreements (ATOs/PTOs). All five are signed to AHL contracts by the Admirals and will report to the team's training camp.

Re: Valentine and Andreoff
so he's gonna ride the bench all year according to the depth chart, looks like he will head to the ECHL or back to Oshawa. Why spend a 3rd round pick on a guy your going to sit. Seems like a waste.

Re: Valentine and Andreoff
I read that story and it says that Andreoff will likely be heading back to Oshawa soon. I doubt he will be sent to the ECHL this season.

Re: Valentine and Andreoff
The Monarchs tenth game is Oct. 28th.
We will know by then (hopefully sooner) whether or not Andy will be back with the Generals.
We all want the guys to succeed in the bigger leagues but selfishly we want them back to help our junior teams.

The 10 games rule does not apply when the games are played in the AHL.. only the NHL. Please see Jerry D'Amigo who played 43 games for the Marlies last year before finishing his season in Kitchener.

Re: Valentine and Andreoff
Thanks for clarifying.
Why sit him and not send him back to the Gens.
We sure could use his leadership and scoring power. We need a second line that can put the puck in the net.

Re: Valentine and Andreoff
I could be wrong but that doesn't prove anything KHE. You can play more then 9 games in the NHL and the AHL and be sent back to junior, it burns a year on your entry level deal, and as far as i know that applys to the AHL.
Other wise your prospects would sign a 3 year deal that in most cases lasted twice that time as many spend 2-3 years in the AHL developing.

Gens_Fan_22 was under the impression that Andy could not return to the OHL if he played more than 10 games. All I did was clarify that this isn't true. I made not mention to the fact that if you play more than 10 games in the NHL you could not be returned. If that was implied it was a mistake. The fact is that if you do play more than 10 games in the NHL you are still able to return to junior however you DO burn a year on your contract. That's why you rarely see that happen. I do not know if playing 10 games in the AHL burns a year on the contract.

Re: Valentine and Andreoff
As last I heard they have not signed Andy- does that rule still hold for 10 games if he isnt signed. Not sure why'd you play that long without a contract, but just a random quesiton

Re: Valentine and Andreoff
He would have to be signed to an extended tryout contract to play a game in the regular season i believe.
I think you can sign like a 1 game contract, however i don't see why he would do that, he is entitled to a 3 year entry level deal if he is going to play for them. Or an AHL only contract for the year.

Re: Valentine and Andreoff
Not sure what you are looking at. Here is the Official Team site...he is listed there... http://www.manchestermonarchs.com/roster.php If you are talking about the AHL site and not the team site, he has never been listed.....he has not signed yet.

Re: Valentine and Andreoff
Ya thats what i refered to, he should be on the ahl site by now as many other players have been added, but ur right they probably all have contracts. The main point is where is Andy? he's not playing in the AHL, the season started and he didn't play.

Andy isn't playing again tonight. I'm selfishly hoping he's getting on a plane soon and it will make this a very happy thanksgiving:)

Re: Valentine and Andreoff
well it sounds like LA is going to send more players back upon returning from europe, or something like that. So maybe he is only going to suit up for them if certain players make the big club.

Its like they heard me - monarchs replied and said they aren't sure what's going on. LA is talking to his agent and they will wait and see what happens
