Trades ? They need to be made

I feel we really need to beef up are forward core. When Lessio an Laughton return we will be in much better shape for a couple weeks, but then the world juniors an under 17s role around an we will lose Biggs, Jenner, Uvira, Dal Colle ( u-17s ) an possibly Laughton an Sullentrop for 2 weeks at least. If this happens say goodbye to a good playoff seeding. In reality I'd like to see the Gens go after one well known gifted forward and two 4th year role players that good chip in offensively, physically and take a regular shift. The role players would cost late round picks... Which really are who cares. The role player could cost the Hore brothers another prospect am some picks. But the gens have a chance this year an with a big roster turn over next year I feel it's worth it. As for the defence spot. I feel Hore has done well as the 6th but come playoffs adding a vet to the mix is never bad. I'd love to see the gens take a run at Vincent trocheck from Saginaw he's a Pittsburgh penguins pick I believe, prolific scorer an Saginaw is out of contention I think it fits well if Thowey could swing it.

Trevor Morbeck from Kingston for a 10th. Not exactly a head turner .

The OHL.com site says that Brett Curran, the Gens 15th round pick from '09, a defenceman, was also sent to Kingston although neither the Gens nor the Frontenacs sites made mention of this.

Not an earth shattering move, but a good depth move. He's played in the league for a number of years. Is frimilar with the division, strong physical, can kill penaltys an take a regular shift. Should fit in nicely on the third line when our forward core comes back healthy an from suspension. Still think we need two more moves an most definitely a defencmem now that petgrave is hurt.

Would it be far fetched to see the Generals and Petes make a trade ? The Pete's sit in the basement of the conference, are clearly rebuilding, but own a few very talented older players. Alan Quine comes to mind as a player that could fit in perfectly. He could OA next season because he's a Redwings prospect, slight chance he heads to the AHL, so it would be worth giving up a few pieces for. He's a point per game player an could really flourish playing with Jenner and Biggs or Laughton and Lessio. They also have import defencemen Peter Cersanek who's a NY Rangers prospect, with the Petgrave injury it would make sense. Quine and Cersanek for a 2nd Rounder in 2013, 5th rounder in 2013, 3rd rounder in 2014, Adam Llyod and Will Petsching ?

Last night vs. Missie was a total choke job. Great two periods getting everyone on the bench involved....3rd period back to playing 12 guys....I dont get it

I truly believe that the gens need to beef up thier forwards and need to add another top defenceman with pettgrave and lessio and for the loss of our players to the world junoirs.The loss of this talent will certianlly hurt the gens through the month of december.I realize that other teams will be losing bigtime players too but we just seem to depend on ours way too much,with them gone whos gonna score.

Just to name a few but i realize getting good players comes at a price,im just wondering who we would have to trade to maybe get 1 or 2 of these players mentioned.

In response to macker88... Everyone in Petes land says Quine is a bit of a headcase, a prima donna and has rquested a trade (and not for the first time!). Not much of a backchecker either. Ceresnak is being badmouthed on the Petes message board as well and would not be much of an improvement over Petschenig, anyway. Besides, I don't believe the Gens have a 2nd in 2013 or possibly their3rd in 2014. Things are a little bare in the draft cupboards right now from what I understand.

The gens have to go for it this year, they will not have the firepower next year to complete. If Thomas comes back(We can always wish), why would you trade a 50 goal scorer, yes he didn't have a good last year but he's still a top forward in the league and would give the generals the 2 best lines in the OHL and a 3rd line that can also score.
The opportunity doesn't come very often and this year anyone can win, We have no choice but to go for it and once the generals get their players back we have a great shot to win the east and battle for the OHL finals.

There is enough quality players to give you a high energy line that will score a few as well.

They need to pick up another 3 -4 defenceman, vet goalie and a high energy player to help out the 4th line. We will be getting a top def back when Petgrave comes back so 1 more are we are set.

Appleby will be good down the road but right now you need some insurance if Altshuller gets hurt.

Next year you can trade a few key guys that will give you some great returns and be good again in 2 yrs. Altshuller, Laughton, Brown,Carlisle, will help get our cupboards full again and give us the draft picks we traded away in the past years.

This club should be 2 yrs of rebuild, 2 yrs going for it that's the cycle in JR hockey. look at kitchener and Belleville ect
