Tonights game vs plymouth

I see the guys blew a 3-1 lead and lost in a shootout,i could not make the game, what happened???   

how was the attendance with the bad weather here.

It sure was a mixed effort  - first 10 minutes Great - 2 nd period penalty trouble - first 15 minutes of 3rd WAKE UP you gens - then got a real chippy and then we gave up the tying goal on a fluky goal mouth deflection - then we dominated the last 8 minutes of the game , but couldn't score all vs a bottom feeder that we should have taken more seriously

Only 1 goal scored in a poor shootout

We need to practice that shootout - why does no one come down centre with speed as they all want to go SLOW and out think the goalie
and  very seldom happens

Well 3 game losing streak now -  Barrie ,Kingston and Sudbury are getting closer and after x mas we lose 2 more players for 3 0r 4 games for under 17

The pack will separate or get closer by mid Jan -   first the Petes , Ottawa then North Bay then we play in Sudbury Jan 3 then in Barrie Jan 4  with a depleted line up then in Kingston Jan 10 ( trade deadline ) then home to Sudbury Jan 12

By then we will know if we are a contender or a pretender - BUT that was a poor effort last night

More justification to "tank" and go for it next year as I have said all along. The Gens are a first place team,...yes, but are no means a serious Mem contender as they exist now.

the gens are not playing with any kind of "sand "right now mini slump , this happens to this team every christmas season it seems , wish we were playing all road games this time of year .

Jaycro ….i just don't understand your "tank " proposal , we are in first place , missing arguably the best player in the ohl , there is absolutely to reason to think we will be a top team next year with a better chance than this season !!!!! no reason …. any draft choices we bring in for a laughton trade will be basically 3rd round picks …….nonsense , not worth it !

having said that , we do need to bolster this years team with some depth and character , this is in many ways a young team , the coaching staff in my view did
not have these guys ready to dominate last night which they should have done , plymouth has a small weak defense , we should have been forcing the play rather than play our usual defense first approach …coaching mistake !!!

i was at the game , very disappointed with the effort , our D was on their heals all night , the forwards sucked big time …….i'm sorry but i don't get Manchurak , or mcdade !!!! if this is our future next year we are in trouble !!!!

next year is our tank year ………pick up high first round picks the next 2 years , that how Erie has done it !

the east is week , we have a very good chance of coming out of the east and playing the west champions for the title , sure they look better now but , not much better , the games have been close , in a playoff round anything is possible . and we have the goaltender to pull it off ……….Frankly i'm so sick of being 'bridesmaids , middle of the pack team , we never seem to make it to the top ! this year we have a good chance at the top .

you want to tank / then tank right finish last next year , its fist round picks you want , the second round , third round picks are a crapshoot , and our management don't play that game very well , how many good 2nd round picks do we actually have in our lineup today ???? very few !

Mygens, see my post on page 3 of 'The Gens are Sellers...'Erie has good choices (2nds) as I pointed out there. They are loaded but as I also said, they don't really need Laughton. Hopefully we can get Blandisi or Van Stralen from Ottawa at a reasonable cost and pick up a top two defenceman (Bigras) without decimating this team. Don't get me wrong, I think this is a very good team, well coached and hardworking. Our upcoming games versus Peterborough and Ottawa  will tell us a lot.
