Favorite seat/ row/ section at the Gens Centre
Question for everybody to pipe in.
I spent the last few years sitting in as many different sections and rows as I could with the intention of finding a spot to purchase seasons tickets. I'm sitting in Row 8 and really enjoy the view but I am thinking of changing locations for next year. I had to sit for the skate yesterday (seasons ticket skate) thanks to my wonky knee and had my kids skate around the rink. I was watching them sitting right on the glass near the Gens penalty box and got myself thinking. I had been thinking of moving up higher next year.
I like the group of folks near me in 105 but hate the row behind me as its corporate and filled with non-hockey fans that at times can be a real pain in the ass. (kicking the seat, whiney kids, crying babies, stuuupid comments.. etc.).
Does anybody sit on the glass? How do you like it?
If you could sit in any seat in the house where would you sit?

I like the overhead view of the medallion seats on the upper level behind the net. I know many people like to be close to the action but I like how you can watch the play develop being up high and being able to see the whole ice without turning your head compared to sitting at center ice. If you don't like kids in the row behind you kicking your seat, the medallion seats would also resolve that problem although they are pricier @ $26/game or $800 or so for the season.

The Medallions offer a great view, however they are pricey and I could afford to do that everygame. My Favorite Sections are the 3 behind the goalie. I enjoy being able to look straight ahead and not side to side. Not blocked by fans leaning to far forward all game.
I sit first row on the glass, never miss any of the action, unless the ref parks his butt in front of me. Only problem is the glass is rarely replaced and is badly marked at times. Sitting further up avoids the marks, however to far up and you have to look through the net. Net makes me a little dizzy by the end of the game.
Hope that helps.

I second Archer_Gens. I have had season for close to 20 yrs and in both arenas spent them sitting behind the goalie. I'm about 8 rows up as well. At first the netting bothered me, but now I'm so used to it, I dont even notice it. I dont think I would ever consider changing seats....unless of course a) someone gave me a box or b) someone gave me DJ's job.
