According to the OHL site the Kitchener 4th is in 2015, so for 2013 we gave up a 5th round and a 8th round...big deal.

Not a fan of the hore trade, would never have let him go. Definitely didnt get the best ROI there. My biggest issue is the goal tending sitch was never address. Dans going to burn out and they better hope he doesn't get hurt, cuz appleby cant carry this team. You can have as many Boone jenners in front of you as you want, but if you don't have top notch goaltending, then it doesn't matter.

It doesn't matter. Belleville loaded up and they were already better then us. Just another ho-hum year just like the rest since 1997. The future doesn't look bright either, eeek.

Not necessarily. London had no real goaltending and won 24 in a row. Granted u gotta have your hand in the leagues pocket. But still.

How is Belleville already better than us?? Oshawa is 4-1 against Belleville this year.

After sleeping on it last night I have come to understand a little better of what Jeff Twohey's mind set was yesterday. It's a funny year for OHL hockey with the NHL starting up soon and there are a couple of potential uncertainties for the Generals with Boone Jenner and Scott Laughton who are both leaving for NHL training camp. While Scott will more than likely (although not guaranteed) return to Oshawa, Boone could be gone for good. As a long time season ticket holder I would have been rather upset if Oshawa mortgaged the future this year only to have our captain stay in the NHL. Now, if the situation was different and the NHL season was cancelled and Oshawa was guaranteed Boone and Scott's services for the rest of the year he probably goes about this trade deadline differently and probably makes more of a splash. The moves he made although were minor, addressed something that this hockey team lacked...toughness. They also get a defensman in Simon Karlsson that is a puck moving defenseman that will probably replace Petgrave next year as an OA. Fans will LOVE Justice Dundas, he plays a high energy game and isn't affraid to stick up for himself or his teammates. John McGuire... well.. just youtube him and you'll see how he throws them. When DJ Smith coached in Windsor they had a balance of scoring and toughness to win those Memorial Cups. Oshawa now has that toughness to go along with the ton of offensive upside and if Lessio returns to form after his injury the fan base will see the healthy version of the 2012-13 Generals. With everyone healthy they have 3 solid scoring lines and a darn gritty fourth line that no team in the OHL will want to mess with. Having that grit on the bench will keep other teams in check in terms of taking shots at the scorers on the first 3 lines. It will also take the task of fighting away from Scott Sabourin who arguable has been Oshawa's only capable fighter the last several months. Scott has shown much more offensive upside this year to be sitting in the box consistently. This team has played as a cohesive unit all year and I'm looking forward to a long playoff run.

GO GENS GO!!

Laughton will return for sure

Jenner hopefully is back after 5 games

I am not sure why a bottom club would want to burn 1 yr of contract on a 19 yr old

However the NHL will play 48 games in 105 days - that's a lot of games - lot of injuries

On the trade front we did as well as we could with the assests we had to move

I don't get the negativity from some posters. Twohey did a good job without impacting the future. The Gens will be just fine in the next few years.

They have a shot this year especially if Jenner is back.

Why sell the farm when you don't know the answer to that question.
