Did anybody think that Jimmy McDowell maybe he wanted out, so Dips had no choice and got the best offer he could,it is possible that was the case.

Dips done good but I still think he should have tried to move him for Archibald. If not, he sort of got what was warranted for a player of McDowell's calibre and experience. He probably did want out when he saw what was coming in and how that would impact on his ice time. Don't blame him one bit.

Why you busting on agents. They keep the parents out of the equation who are emotionally attached. It does not do Jimmy any good to sit the pine or better yet in a seat nor does it do us any good to sit the two youngsters. While the team he is going to is not the best he will get a chance at a lot of ice time.

personally i think jimmy would have been better served playing with and learning from other solid D men , then going to Erie , where his team will be blown out most nights , just my view , but every kid wants to play 25 mins a game i guess , everyone is in a hurry to get to the next level , don't know how old you are to remember the old days when nhl teams let the kids finish their junior careers , and when they did turn pro they played 3 to 4 years in the minors before the bigs , especially D men

There are still a lot of teams that do that but I think the best thing for Jimmy was to move wherever and get playing time. He will not learn anything from playing the game in the stands and will get no help during practice. Jimmy like so many kids needs to work on those first three steps and not to get caught flat footed. He can move the puck and shoot but those two areas he can work on in Erie. I wish him all the best, a great kid.
