I am pleased with the moves made, they addressed the elephant in the room. Hope this means Maggio will play less so he can play smart. Still thinking we are not done, constantly searching for information online various forums.

Re: Whats up,why GENS so silent on TRADE FRONT!!!
With Hermie gone to get down to three overagers and McDowell going to Erie, as per Doyle on 'loosepucks', they are down to eight which is a little on the heavy side but covers in case of injuries and Brown isn't playing much recently.

As an addendum, Why wouldn't DePiero try to move McDowell to Saginaw for Brandon Archibald? McDowell is from just outside Lansing, is he not"

Re: Whats up,why GENS so silent on TRADE FRONT!!!
Because it takes two teams to make a trade

Re: Whats up,why GENS so silent on TRADE FRONT!!!
McDowell traded for a 4th rnd in '13 and a 8th rnd in '15.
This makes no sense at all. McDowell was only 1 of a few defence that could come back next year.

Re: Whats up,why GENS so silent on TRADE FRONT!!!
Don't like the trade at all. McDowell was probably the most underated on the team and was a stay at home D. The Gens D are now basically OAs and 92s.

Re: Whats up,why GENS so silent on TRADE FRONT!!!
hmmmm , well considering we didn't get much for him , it suggests that he wanted a move , he really didn't blossom into the D man i thought he would anyhow , lots of time to replace him , brown will most likely be able to step into a greater role next year

No doubt he saw his playing time diminish to nothing in a span of what 24 hours

Re: Whats up,why GENS so silent on TRADE FRONT!!!
I know it takes two teams to make a trade but I still think McDowell for Archibald, plus a pick or two either way, if required, would have been a good deal for both considering Sags is 'dumping' in rebuild mode and Archibald is a 'top four' who would hve helped this year. We'll need help next year, though with only Sullentrop, Carlisle and Brown returning, unless a couple of '92s return! But, if you are going for it, go big!

Re: Whats up,why GENS so silent on TRADE FRONT!!!
sullentrop will likely do better playing with one of the new guys !!! together sullen trop and mcdowell were wayyyyy too soft in our end , part of the reason we sit where we do today in the standings

Hey, it's easy to manage these Jr. A clubs whilst on our butts playing pretend GM., plus you have 'Hindsight" as your assistant GM and no job loss at stake if you screw up!

The problem with the d was not Suellentrop and Mcdowell being to soft it was because maggio hope and quinn are a step (some cases 3 steps) to slow. Stats do not lie and that was why all coaches in this league loved playing against the Gennies. Think what you want but that is the truth

Re: Whats up,why GENS so silent on TRADE FRONT!!!
normally + - is a pretty good gage , but it is not the whole story , depends who the D men are playing with and against !..........in any case i think we can agree our D will be vastly improved with these trades and acquisitions !

Re: Whats up,why GENS so silent on TRADE FRONT!!!
So, in a"General" sense, bottom line is the Gens picked up a ton of talent and experience for a net loss of a 2nd? Not bad, Chris!

Re: Whats up,why GENS so silent on TRADE FRONT!!!
Kuddos to Dips for a great job of getting better defensive talent in here. But unlike mygens opinion if we continue to play maggio and quinn first pairing than it will be all for naught.

Re: Whats up,why GENS so silent on TRADE FRONT!!!
lollll i don't know where i ever said maggio and quinn , in fact i was calling for moving Quinn , but thats just me , obviously either their was no interest in him , from other teams or our coaching staff feels he fits better than Mcdowell , i was actually surprised at the mcdowel move , but as jaycro says , we are all armchair Gms here , we don't know ALL the factors in play !!!! what the pairings are will be a mystery to everyone until these guys get to play with each other for awhile
