Still no Matt Mistele in the line up. Rob Snoek on twitter says he still has an injury? I didn't know he was injured

Re: GENS AT PETES
No Vande Sompel to QB the powerplay, sorry Carlisle is good but hes no Mitch. Missing Petschenig is really hurting our shutdown pair of what was him and Brown. Smith going out in the 1st definitely didn't help either. Most likely going to be losing Mermis for a game or 2 for the slew foot too. Here's hoping Mistele can come in and bring back the spark.
The team just looked to be in sorts after the hit on Smith. DJ and Brown were rattled the entire game

Re: GENS AT PETES
The Reffing was terrible tonight. But the Generals really didn't create much even when the game was 5 on 5. They had trouble gaining entry to the Petes zone, there was to much individual play, and most noticeably when they dumped pucks into the Petes zone, there was no forcheck, they where basically just giving the pucks away.
The more I watch Stephen Desrochers the more I find it hard to find something to like. He is most certainly a product of a strong team, throw his offensive numbers out the window, this kid makes poor decisions with the puck and his not strong positionally. Anyone else notice how terrified he is to go into a corner first. People where complaining about him not being drafted last year, I've paid strong attention to him while scouting this year and he is god awful, I'm sorry to be blunt, but I have not been impressed once this season.
Chris Carlisle, I'll be the first to admit I haven't been a fan of his for the majority of his Generals career. I believe he's improved by leaps and bounds this year, but I watch him and really wonder what goes through his head at times. He telegraphs passes, gets knocked off pucks and manhandled in the corners and below the goal line. Kudos for this vast improvement, but man know Vande Sompel and no Petschenig has really exposed this D-Core.
As I watched tonight's game (Live) I thought numerous times, sure Mistele, McCarron, Pedersen where nice pick ups, but why didn't the Gens do anything to upgrade their D-Core. Even when where at full strength, I think it's a weakness, I truly believe we should have upgraded on Carlisle and added some more physicality. The Petes really took it to the Gens physically tonight, and there was no push back.
Back to back losses, I'm not freaking out, but now I feel I can justifiably speak about some players I've noticed throughout the year without being jumped all over.

Finally someone agrees with me
Well Macker - in a way u agree with me about too many trades - You say we should have got help on the back end - Harpur should would have been better than Pederson - not sure why we couldn't have gotten Harpur - with giving up way too much for Pederson He may be a good player BUT time will tell if he is a good fit.
We had too many Phil Kessels last night - going into the Petes end and doing that big CURL - it was like the GUYS thought this will be easy.
Well all of u that have the parade route planned - Every night this team hits the ice every team will hit the BIG boys hard to beat the # 1 team . Who knows the Petes dumping Ritchie may improve their team
Adding 1 or 2 players - yes BUT adding a whole top line - it's like starting from scratch - chemistry was way off last night
Now with an injury to Smith and a Suspension to the new defenseman ( 2 games likely) - we already have Van de Somple and Pesching injured and we traded for an injured player - looks like adversity is here
Now to brake the losing streak that could hit 3 - we play a team that is fighting for a playoff spot with a Great goalie that has beat us once already, can we rebound

Missy lost their starter to a season ending injury. They picked up some free agent goalie from the QMJHL.

Re: GENS AT PETES
Well the last two games were not good , mostly because the effort wasn't there all around except for a couple of players ! It happens in junior , with depth though other players should pick it up . That didn't happen
Now as badly as we played the team kept the scores down , we have excellent team defence , when all our D are in the lineup we have more than enough D
And Macker I agree to a certain extent about Durocher . He could be more physical , but his plus minus is the best on the team , he certainly is doing a great job overall , while not flashy he's very effective , the Stars prove that
Carlisle has been great this year , I agree , but last night was the old Carlisle
Who knows what the reasons were the past two games , lots of flu going around Durham !
We need Petschenig back and hopefully vande simple isn't serious injury ,
Did anyone else but me think the hit on Smirh was clearly interference ???? With a concussion , suspension ?..

Re too many trades ? Well it's a damn good thing we picked up those players , vande sample and especially Hunter could be out for a month with a concussion !
Re Mermis , he looks good , slew foot is such a bogus call for a suspension , BS

Re: GENS AT PETES
Our injury problems are on the backend, the Generals only picked up one defenseman, the acquisitions of all the forwards don't really help the ever thinning backend.
The Slew foot was a joke, I was right in front of the play last night, Mermis's feet didn't even tough the Petes player. The Ref was brutal all night, gave Turner a goaltender inference call for getting smoked from behind into the goalie. An to go more into detail Mermis's slew foot looked more like a holding penalty on the Petes player.

Re: GENS AT PETES
I agree Macker. Mermis had the puck and was being held. The brown call was a legit hit to a guys chest who had the puck. Hopefully league looked at supposed slew and saw it wasn't.
