Suspensions from Kingston game
Checked the game sheet this morning to see that Cassels received a second fight and Mccarron received a third man in penalty. To my knowledge unless the league overturns the penalties both players will get an automatic 2 game suspension.

Rediculious. What about Crouses slash on Brown. How can he only get 2 mins. Major and intent to injure?????? Looks very similair to Delorys slash in Kingston at the same spot. The play still bothers me the day after. Or the guy that decided to just drop his gloves and throw punches at VanSompel which started everything.

Re: Suspensions from Kingston game
i can't believe Crouse didn't get a major and suspension and the same for Bartuzzi cross check on Cirelli, that was as bad if not worse than the Warner hit. Seems you longtime Gens followers are correct when the Czar hands out suspensions to the Gens seems harsher than the other teams or none at all to the opposition. What's up with these Refs it seems to me that more than a few cant control the game when they let things get out of hand like last night.

Re: Suspensions from Kingston game
Cassels and McCarron are suspensions I understand. I suspect that Kingston will be sending the game tape to OHL for the cross check Vandesompel gave. I can foresee 3-5 games, dangerous play. No intent to injur, but still careless play. That precipitated the fight late in the game. The kid trying to fight Vandesompel was the kid cross checked in the face. Those three out will be a test for our team. I do not see Crouse getting a suspension, but agree it warrants one.

We have been waiting for this
Well Mr Branch has been waiting for a chance to halt the GENS runaway train - don't think it will happen
This team is too deep and committed - Mon Feb 16 - Sudbury - we just might get a close game now

Re: Suspensions from Kingston game
Good call KHE on the automatic 2. The OHL site has Cassels and McCarron missing 2 games (Sudbury tomorrow, London Friday). They get to return on February 21, the night that we play Kingston again.
Was very surprised that Crouse only got 2 minutes for the slash on Brown. If that's the standard for a 2 minute slash, yikes.

Much ado about nothing , suspensions , really ? Wasn't even a good fight , just wrestling Match , this new OHL is such a pansy game , bring back old time hockey when players policed

And the biggest joke for making the OHL into a pansy league is Branch.

Re: Suspensions from Kingston game
Just a few observations...I was at the K-Rock on Friday. Caron started things off trying to draw Hunter Smith out in the warmup and should have got a game and suspension. Dorval was the guy who interfered with Appleby and didn't draw a penalty. He also showed us some dirty stick work the last game here. Yes, vandensompel highsticked him but the puck was already gone and Dorval action on Vandensompel was a late hit. I know, I shouls see it from the Kingston viewpoint but there hands aren't clean either. As far as Branch goes he doesn't issue the suspensions? but weare paying for firing his son Barclay as well asGeorge Burnett, years ago. Maybe Dave will retire like the rest of us who get old and LAME. Regards, the elderly Croc.
